It’s extremely easy to work with the MongoDB Console within Toad Mac edition.  This is great because if you are like me and your MongoDB Query Language skills aren’t on par with your SQL skills, it’s nice to have a reassurance within Toad that what you see as a result set in Toad is the same result set you’d see if you ran it via command line/mongodb.exe.

So, to leverage the MongoDB command line console built right into Toad, and easily see what the MongoDB (mongo.exe) command output would look like in MongoDB, just turn on the Toad “Use Mongo shell Only” feature like so…


And then enable the ‘Show Data’ option within the MongoDB DB Console…


…and now you can see the output just as if it were run via MongoDB command line! (because it is being run via MongoDB command line).
