I cannot seem to find it anymore, the option to bring back the option when copying rows (table -> Details -> Data tab -> select rows -> Right Click -> Copy Rows), to also include the row header into the clipboard? The only way at the moment, to get the header is to export the entire data view, or a selection of rows into Excel.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I have installed the 6.8 version of Toad DBA Suite which installs the 32-bit version of Toad.  If I try to install the latest 64-bit version of Toad along side the 32-bit version I get the following error message:

Does anyone know if they can run side-by-side or do I have to uninstall the 32 bit version first? Also, if I do will it invalidate my DBA Suite licensing?

Thanks,

Greg

I'm running into issues while running the data compare job in the automation task. It runs for hours apparently with no activity. it runs fine some days but not always.

I'm able to run the task manually using the Toad and execute the task and it runs just under 30 minutes.

- Ran the automation task by setting it in verbose mode.

- Automation task execute sql statement before running the compare job. It then uses the value from the sql statment and send e-mail.

Hi:

I have a sql file that I am working on, it has about 250 lines, and some of the lines are wide (the longest line has 280 chars, it contains a big string).

The sql editor slowed so much down that it almost became unusable. Actually I gave up and I switched back to Toad 6.7. The editor is slow in 6.7 as well...

The file contains exec statements of stored procedures.

*** Big Sigh ***

I started to look for a Toad replacement. I am sorry. I might continue paying for maintenance, but I will use another tool for editing sql and running queries.

I don't understand what's going on with this product. I am a software developer myself and I don't get it.

Cheers,

Costa

Everyone,

I'm new to TOAD so be gentle. I have an Access Database from which I'd like to open an instance of TOAD. I've opened the instance without any trouble with

Call Shell(mypath, vbNormalFocus)

My issue is I cannot figure out how to insert the password into Connections dialog box and execute the connection. For security reasons I'm not comfortable with saving the password in TOAD and then opening the instance.

My ultimate goal is to determine if I can manipulate TOAD from Access. I'm having issues connecting Access to the back end server and am looking for a workaround (i.e. run access, call Toad, execute save queries, feed the data back to access). Alas.Ick!

When installing Toad 6.8 I checked the box that integrated Toad into SQL Server Management Studio. When I launched management studio it gave me an error (something about unable to load the add-in). Now, whenever I right-click on any node in management studio I get this pop-up:

XamlObjectWriterException
Cannot set unknown Member
'{clr-namespace;Quest.Toad.SSMSAddin.Menus;assembly=Dell.ToadSSMSAddinCore, Version 7.0.10.0, Culture=Neutral, PublicKeyToken=....}ToadCommandMenuItem.CommandId

At this point I just want SQL Server management studio back to how it was so I can right-click on nodes.

I've completely uninstalled Toad 6.8 but the issue remains.

Please help

The new comparison wizard selects all the tables by default to compare. I don't want to compare all the tables because I have hundreds of them. When I do Clear All, it clears all the target objects as well! Why? This means for the tables I want to compare I have to select the target object for each table. An extra manual process. I wish Toad will leave the target objects alone and just deselect the tables.

I am using the data compare functionality on hundreds of tables in a database. Toad is showing many tables where I need to define the comparison keys. All the destination tables are empty so I really see no reason I have to spend many minutes clicking continuously defining those keys. Toad doesn't need to really compare any data. Just copy the data from the source tables to the destination tables. If I don't define the keys, it seems Toad will skip those tables.

Is there a way to not go through the process of defining the keys and just go ahead and copy the data?

I don't really need the full version of Toad for SQL Server, but the current Freeware is only on 6.6 and is terribly buggy.  When are you going to update the Freeware to 6.8?

BTW, I'd pay for a "lite" version of SQL Server if it had everything the Freeware had the "Edit: snippets, predictive typing, syntax highlighting" of the full version.  I just don't need everything the pro version has and can't justify $700 for that.  But $150 or so for a lite version I could justify.
