Kudos to the folks making Toad World great!
Hello TOAD for MySQL Community,
I have a question regarding data diff viewer.
If I compare data based on the same query, but different environment (production vs. test) I get always an error:
Unknown type found during storing data. Type: System.SByte
The query could be also select * from XYZ (comparison of 2 tables), but error still appears.
When I compare 2 tables via Data Compare, everything works fine.
How to repeat:
1) Execute query on 1st environment and store it as TEF file
2) Execute query on 2st environment and store it as TEF file
3) Open data diff viewer and use previous created file as source and target.
My current workaround is, storing result in separate excel files and create a connection via Toad Data Point to those file, then compare via Data Compare.
In this case everything works properly. But without Data Point I'm not able to compare data directly, is there any solution available?
TOAD for MySQL Version is 220.127.116.118
Thanks for help
The new stable version of Toad for MySQL 7.0 is now available for immediate download.
Just head over to the download section and get it right now!
Chaps when I do an update via the grid editor, toad fails when the query contains a join (even though in the select the columns are all referenced from the 'from' table - i.e. no ambiguity as to which table to update). Previous versions of Toad did not have this issue, nor does SQLyog.
select c.id, c.`round`, c.personal_email, c.personal_email_2from ags.current_contacts as c inner join ags.alumni_initial as a on a.id = c.idwhere a.pers_email1 <> c.personal_email;
Any ideas how to make this work would be appreciated ;)
I was using Toad for MySQL version 18.104.22.1688, and as I tried to modified a result set and saved it, a window popped up "MySQL Database Error" :
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'SET status = 1 WHERE (id = 262727 OR (NULL = 1 AND id IS NULL))' at line 1
Could this be a MariaDB incompatiblity? I am using MairaDB 5.5.32a .
I'm new to Toad Data Point 3.3, so how do I turn on the option to debug my code? I am connected to the database, can pull up code, but can only execute it. I can't set breakpoints or step thru the code. Probably something simple, but tired of hunting for it.
it seems taht the Export wizard dosen't work correctly in Loop Dataset.
For example if I use a xls file name with #loop_data.field#.xlsx, the run export the file in #loop_data.field#.xlsx instead of the value_of_the_field.xlsx
It also seems that a requet with a viariable can't be use in Export Wizard
I was happy to see Toad for SQL server popup notification of an available update. The options given were update now, update later, and remind me later. Update now downloaded pretty fast and then nothing happened. I tried again with Toad running elevated as administrator, again nothing happened. I tried option 2 to download and update, but the file downloaded was an 82 kb or so 505.apx file or something like that which for some reason is associated on my workstation with Visual Studio 2010 so that's less than anything really helpful. The last option was to remind me later which I set for remind me next time Toad runs. I tested that too and found its failing to prompt at next run as well.
I won't be able to test after today as I'm pushing the update as a manual download. I'm sure others have a much better test environment with more time than I to play with this reported bug.
I have recently discovererd toad and I am very impressed so far.I have however one problem: Toad hangs if I open a SQL file while I have an active connection. If I open the SQL file before i open the connection to the database server, it works OK.I spent some time googling about this problem, but have'nt found anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?I am using Toad 22.214.171.1242 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
How do I get Free space reports I am currently running version 126.96.36.199.
BETA 7.0 EXPIRED and update is not available.

Hello toad world, I'm new.
In my toad for mysql version (188.8.131.525), I didn't success to create a simple dump. I got a lot of cvs files.
I guess I'm blind.
Can you help me show the "path"...?
I am trying to use the compare feature and for some reason the compare is not picking up that one table has a default for the column
This is what I am getting in the script:
`transferDate` timestamp NOT NULL,
here is what I should be getting:
`transferDate` timestamp NOT NULL DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
Is this a bug?
If the default is not there then will update timestamp on updates...

Could anyone help me about this?
Thanks in advance
So I opened Toad, connected to my DB and did some work.
Then I went to disconnect and I get:
Value cannot be null.Stack Trace: at System.Threading.Monitor.ReliableEnterTimeout(Object obj, Int32 timeout, Boolean& lockTaken) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Cancel() at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Dispose(Boolean disp) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Dispose() at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugClient.CloseDebugging(Connection connection) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugClient.ConnectionClosingHandler(Object sender, ConnectionClosingEventArgs e) at Quest.Toad.Notification.NotificationManager.InternalConnectionClosing(Object sender, ConnectionClosingEventArgs args) at Quest.Toad.Notification.NotificationManager.ConnectionClosing(Object sender, Connection connection) at Quest.Toad.Db.Connection.Close() at Quest.Toad.ConnectionManager.ConnectionControl.disconnectItem_ItemClick(Object sender, ItemClickEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarItem.OnClick(BarItemLink link) at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarBaseButtonItem.OnClick(BarItemLink link) at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarItemLink.OnLinkClick() at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarItemLink.OnLinkAction(BarLinkAction action, Object actionArgs) at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarButtonItemLink.OnLinkAction(BarLinkAction action, Object actionArgs) at DevExpress.XtraBars.BarItemLink.OnLinkActionCore(BarLinkAction action, Object actionArgs) at DevExpress.XtraBars.ViewInfo.BarSelectionInfo.ClickLink(BarItemLink link) at DevExpress.XtraBars.ViewInfo.BarSelectionInfo.UnPressLink(BarItemLink link) at DevExpress.XtraBars.Controls.CustomLinksControl.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraBars.Controls.DockedBarControl.WndProc(Message& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
and if I try to close the program I get:
System.ArgumentNullExceptionValue cannot be null.Stack Trace: at System.Threading.Monitor.ReliableEnterTimeout(Object obj, Int32 timeout, Boolean& lockTaken) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Cancel() at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Dispose(Boolean disp) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugProviderBase.Dispose() at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugClient.CloseDebugging(Connection connection) at Quest.Toad.Debugger.DebugClient.ConnectionClosingHandler(Object sender, ConnectionClosingEventArgs e) at Quest.Toad.Notification.NotificationManager.InternalConnectionClosing(Object sender, ConnectionClosingEventArgs args) at Quest.Toad.Notification.NotificationManager.ConnectionClosing(Object sender, Connection connection) at Quest.Toad.Gui.MainForm.OnFormClosing(FormClosingEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WmClose(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.XtraForm.WndProc(Message& msg) at Quest.Toad.Gui.MainForm.WndProc(Message& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
What happened? I upgraded from 6.3 to 6.7 now I can only have one data compare session open at a time. Is there a setting somewhere that allows for more compare sessions? Or are we limited to just one session now?
I found being able to work with multiple sessions a more efficient use of my time, Now I have to wait until I am finished in one session before starting up another.
Ok so after I semi-fixed my problems with disconnecting, I still can't seem to get stored procedures to show up in the list, even if I refresh it.
I have clicked the create new procedure button, and I wrote out a stupid basic one:
CREATE PROCEDURE test ()
And I save the file as an sql file and all of that, green line down the side so it says it's good. Auto-Commit is on, but it doesn't do anything apparently. I have refreshed the list, restarted the program, and the procedures is still empty. Am i missing some vital step?
