These people make Toad for MySQL great and have the most points for this month!
Hello, I have been trying to connect to my own computer to simply learn and write queries for, at the moment, simple data sets in CSV format.
My issue: regardless of which SQL program I use, be it mySql WorkBench, HeidiSQL, SQLyog, Toad for MySQL, I cannot connect locally.
I use the standard
setttings and to no avail.
I have created an exception in my Windows Firewall for port 3306,
I cannot find Toad in the list of Services.
I have tried every combination of the above settings in fields Host, Username, Password.
Is there anything I am missing? I'm almost beginning to think I misunderstand entirely what it means to connect locally... I have not set up a server, or have any previous database ready.
A colleague of mine uses SequelPro on her Mac and simply imports CSV files to query them.
Also, I have now attempted to connect locally using an SQL program using both of my computers... making it feel as if there really is something wrong with the way I'm attempting to connect.
If anyone would be able to help, it would be much appreciated. I have never hit a roadblock so early in my attempts to learning a computer software, I am barely making it past the installation...
The new stable version of Toad for MySQL 7.2 is now available for immediate download.
Just head over to the download section and get it right now!
I cant select multiple database schemas, from single server while creating Group Execute script.
More than that - list with avalible schemas can not be created in Group Execute window.

I get an error disconnecting from time to time and when the error occurs it prevents Toad from closing. Once that happens, the only way to close Toad is to go to the Windows Task Manager and end the process. The error message is as follows:

Toad for MySQL (freeware) 184.108.40.20622
Get the following error while trying to compare a replicated table content on master and slave:
Unknown type found during storing data. Type: System.UInt64
The following is the table definition, identical on master and slave:

I've found a bug (?) in Toad for MySQL 220.127.116.111 and 18.104.22.1688: Manual submit auto submits when statement is executed again.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Select "Manually submit row changes as batch" in "Tools->Options->Environment->Grid->Submitting Changes to the Database".
2. SELECT * FROM any.table; -> Change a value but do not submit the change
3. Re-execute SELECT * FROM any.table; (in the same editor)
4. Now the previous change to the value has been submitted without hitting the "Submit" button at the bottom the grid.
Hope you can fix this behaviour. Thanks!
I prefer to use older version (v5.x) of Toad for MySQL.Can I download them somewhere?on the main download page there is only the newest GA version available.Peter
I have an ongoing problem with Toad for MySql where if I leave it running, but don't use it for a period of time, when I come back to it it's basically hung. I can't do anything in the software, and I can't quit and I have to terminate the process. This happens several times a day.Running on Windows 7 x64. Anybody know what's going on and how to fix this/
Hi I am a novice using Toad so any help resolve this issue will be very welcome.
Just yesterday my Toad has decided not to connect to my database. It is giving the following error message:
System.Net.Sockets.SocketExceptionThe system detected an invalid pointer address in attempting to use a pointer argument in a callStack Trace: at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.GetSocketOption(SocketOptionLevel optionLevel, SocketOptionName optionName) at System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream.get_ReadTimeout() at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.TimedStream..ctor(Stream baseStream) at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlStream..ctor(Stream baseStream, Encoding encoding, Boolean compress) at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.NativeDriver.Open() at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.Driver.Open() at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.Driver.Create(MySqlConnectionStringBuilder settings) at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection.Open() at Quest.Toad.MySQL.MySQLConnection.DoBeforeConnect() at Quest.Toad.Db.Connection.Connect(Boolean notify) at Quest.Toad.Db.Provider.BackgroundConnector.CreateBackgroundConnection()
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still get the same message.
The MySql server is running as I can connect to it using my Alpha Any Where and MySql Workbench but I mych prefer to use Toad.
Can anybody help resolve this.
Thanks in advance
Every other program seems to work on the new laptop but Toad. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the window layouts so I can use Toad?
Is there a way to export into excel from the Job Manager? I have 120 reports automated and would like to see them in excel.
I am trying to use RANK() in TOAD SQL editor, it keeps saying there is no RANK function in the test schema I am working on. What I actually want is similar to DENSE_RANK or ANALYTIC rank function for my table... Any help in knowing the syntax, or using RANK function is much appreciated!
I am so thrilled to have found Toad and this forum!!!
First, a disclaimer: I am a novice at DB administration and everything I know is self taught through forums just like this one. That learning is out of necessity, but thank God I enjoy a challenge! My question may be "basic" and I apologize to the experts that may find my inquiry frustratingly simple. I have searched the forum and couldn't find the answer and thus, finally asking for help.
My Experience Level with Toad: maybe 6 hours of useMy DB Admin Skill Level: NoviceVersion of Toad: 22.214.171.12422Toad Feature I am have issues with: Compare SchemaError being encountered: Select command denied to user 'xxxx'@'yyyyy' for table 'db' Quest.Compare.Schema.MySQL.DBModelPrior to posting I made sure (using Toad)...
I also reviewed the "How to create multi-schema comparison" posted within the forum but that didn't help. As soon as I execute the compare, Toad returns the stated error. I suspect this is something truly simple and elementary but I, as I mentioned, I am a novice and would truly appreciate any guidance from anyone willing to point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance!
I am NEW to TOAD. I just upgraded my ToadForMySQL client on my Windows 7 box from ToadForMySQL 126.96.36.1998 to ToadForMySQL 188.8.131.5222. I have 4 databases that I currently connect to. Of the 4 connection entries that I have in my Connection Manager I can only connect to 3. When I try to connect to the 4th database using my connection entry I get this error:
MySQL Database Error
Authentication with old password no longer supported, use 4.1 style passwords.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue would be appreciated. Nothing has changed regarding permissions or passwords in any of these connections. A reply would be appreciated ASAP.
I would like to run toad for mysql from my mremoteng tools.When I want to run toad with command line, it opens toad but does not connect to the database (only open editor's window)In a CMD, I use C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\TOAD.exe Connect=%Username%/%Password%@%dbName%Any idea to autorun and connect toad to a specific database?
Here is some silly example code to try to demonstrate my issue with collapsing.
CREATE PROCEDURE Test
DECLARE vCondition2 int;
DECLARE vCondition3 int;
SET vCondition2 = 3;
WHILE vCondition2 = 3 DO
IF vCondition3 = 2 THEN
SET vConditon2 = 1;
SET vCondition2 = 3;
If I collapse on the BEGIN, I get:
If I collapse on –region test:
It seems the WHILE is screwing up the collapse logic. Is there an error in my syntax? Is there a work around?
After upgrading to Toad for MySQL 7.2, I am no longer able to connect to my FTP server. I receive the following error after the connection times out:
Failed to accept connection within the timeout period
I've confirmed that my username/password is valid and the directory specified is correct.
How can I install Toad for MySQL on a stand-alone pc which is not connected to the internet?
