These people make Toad for MySQL great and have the most points for this month!
In the Data window, of the Chart Wizard, I just happened to delete the Argument and Value information which sent Toad for MySQL into a never ending loop with a message box popping up saying "Argument isn't compatible with the current argument scale type". I cannot be certain what was in the Series Binding but it was Date type for the X Axis and numeric for Y Axis.
I got this error message while changing the Report header...
System.NullReferenceExceptionObject reference not set to an instance of an object.Stack Trace: at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.NormalState.GetFocusedRecordNavigatonInfo(Int32 beginIndex, Int32 endIndex, Int32 step, Boolean forward) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.NormalState.GetNextTabNavigatonInfo(Boolean forward) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.NormalState.NavigateControl(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.EditingState.NavigateControl(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.EditingState.BehaveControl(KeyEventArgs e, Boolean showEditor) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.EditingState.KeyDownCore(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.NormalState.KeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.EditingState.KeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.ControlState.ProcessChildControlKey(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.EditingState.ProcessChildControlKey(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraVerticalGrid.VGridControlBase.RaiseEditorKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Container.EditorContainer.DevExpress.XtraEditors.Container.IEditorContainer.OnEditorKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.TextEdit.OnEditorKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.BaseEdit.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.TextEdit.OnMaskBox_KeyDown(Object sender, KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Mask.MaskBox.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyEventArgs(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Mask.MaskBox.ProcessKeyEventArgs(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmKeyChar(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.TextBoxBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.TextBox.WndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Mask.MaskBox.BaseWndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Mask.MaskBox.MaskStrategy.SimpleStrategy.DoWndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.Mask.MaskBox.WndProc(Message& m) at DevExpress.XtraEditors.TextBoxMaskBox.WndProc(Message& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
I can reproduce it and it occurs whenever I change the information in the Text field. I changed it from the default to IT Team and to check if it was a one off I changed it to IT DBA Team and got the same error. The application does not crash and I don't have to force quit Toad for MySQL.
I keep getting a weird error when using any of the Compare options while connecting to a remote host. In this specific case it is a HostGator server.
Keyword not supported: `btkkw;pooling'.
I am using Toad for MySQL 126.96.36.1996. This has been happening for a the past month or more. I noticed it while running 7.3.x, updating hasn't helped. Otherwise I can connect to the remote server with no problems, view the db, make changes and export with out problems.
Can somebody please help me with this problem? Maybe make some suggestions?
Toad MySQL Version Control for triggers uses only the tablename not the triggername so you cannot commit multiple triggers INSERT + UPDATE + DELETE for the same table.
Each successive commit will overwrite the last and then a get latest will drop those triggers from the database.
I am using Toad for MySQL to access my database. The database contains datetime values of 0000-00-00 00:00:00. Toad is converting these to null, but I don't want that since the database structure is not allowing these fields to be null. I think I can avoid this problem by adding Allow Zero Datetime=true to the connection string, but I don't know how to do that in Toad for MySQL - i.e. customize the connection string to include that parameter. I tried to manually edit the .xml file that contains the connections strings, but that seemed to have no affect, and my changes were overwritten the next time I exited Toad.
Is there a way to customize the connection string? And if so, will that solve my problem?
Toad's SQL editor is signaling incorrect syntax near 'resignal' when resignal is used in a stored procedure. Syntax is actually correct and procedure executes successfully and without errors. For example:
declare exit handler for sqlexception begin rollback; call p_log_event(); commit; resignal; end;
When I have any other error in further code, Messages tab in Results window is always pointing to the line where resignal is called, so i get mislead.
I am hosted by Godaddy and no matter what I try, I can't connect to my databases. Here's what I'm using. Of course I'm using my real userid, pswd and db name. Is localhost correct or should it be a ip addy? I tried the ipaddy and that didn't work either. Guess I can't paste image here. I have TCP and localhost and port 3306.
I'm struggling with an issue when trying to compare schemas of two mysql databases. I'll explain with an example:
I have added an index to one of the columns, something that should have been summed as something like:
ALTER TABLE `tablename`
ADD INDEX `index_name` (`column_name`);
And instead.. it wants me to do the whole "create temp table, copy data to temp table, drop original table,rename temp table to original table name".. that's crazy and moreover, it might (and will) lead to some downtime when trying to update a production db.
Is there a way to change that behavior?
Are you using Toad to connect to MySQL or Aurora instances hosted on Amazon RDS? If so, what is working/what isn’t working?
Answer in the comments below!
Hi,I'm new in Toad and i need help. I have some experiance in writing MySQL in SAS Enterprise Guide. There I could make some macro variables which I could use in a lot of queries, for example:%let age=25;proc sql;create table old25 asselect *from tablewhere old=&age;quit;proc sql;create table younger asselect *from table where old<&age;quit;
How can I do that in Toad? I have values which are repeated 10 times or more and I don't want to write them every of that 10 times..... I have found something about bind variables (a have to declare them) but then some window is oped and I have tu put the wright value in it - again 10 times. How can I avoid that?Please help!Thanks!Marijana
I have a MYSQL DB. I am storing the multi lingual characters in a table. below is the sample code.
CREATE TABLE test_multi_lang
language_name varchar(500) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci
SET NAMES 'utf8';
insert into test_multi_lang
insert into test_multi_lang
SET NAMES 'utf8';
SET character_set_results = 'utf8',
character_set_client = 'utf8',
character_set_connection = 'utf8',
character_set_database = 'utf8',
character_set_server = 'utf8';
select * from test_multi_lang;When i run the above code in TOAD for MYSQL 188.8.131.520 and select the result set it is displaying as ?????????. but when I run the same code through mysql console it is displaying the unicode characters properly. i changed the properties of my toad as
still i am not getting the result displayed in proper format. how can i solve this problem ?
Thanks in advance.
"Format code" refuses to format any query containing GROUP_CONCAT + SEPARATOR:
SELECT level , GROUP_CONCAT(code SEPARATOR ' ')FROM LogsGROUP BY level;
SEPARATOR is valid since at least MySQL 4.1: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/group-by-functions.html#function_group-concat
This bug exists since beta 7.0 http://www.toadworld.com/products/toad-for-mysql/toad_for_mysql_beta_program/f/90/t/20717.aspx
The SaveLog needs to be viewable during an import - if you open it in an editor to view it during the import (there is no indication of status in the wizard, so viewing the log file is the way to know how things are proceeding) then the import crashes with an error. The log file can be read-only because I shouldn't be allowed to change it, but it really needs to be viewable.
where can i change a float field (11,0) to (11,2) ?
and second, how can i re-order fields ?
When you edit a query in the Import or Export Wizard there is a Cancel button in the bottom right corner - I would expect that clicking it would cancel any changes I made while editing the query and take me back to the objects list in the wizard, but it actually completely exits the wizard, losing any changes you may have made without even showing a confirmation. So I can easily lose a lot of work if I had added a number of queries and went back just to look at one of them :-(
Assume I connect to a database and marked a certain table in the "ObjectExplorer" sub-window on the left.
then below the tab pane there is an additional pane with table column field name, data type and comment.
is there a way to completely disable/hide thus subsubwindow/Pane?
I mean not just by dragging the delimiting border to the minimum but completely disable it?
As I found out the windows border for the v7 Toad is rather thick (approx 7-8 pixels),
How do I make it thin (e.g.1 pixel line)?
Toad has issues displaying the accents in the grid, but only in the column name (see example in the image),
Not a show-stopping bug, but a bit annoying.
Hi,Upgraded to 4.6 and the encoding from Database Explorer is all messed up.Tried to change it but was unable to find it. I need support for characters like á ç ãTks for all the help
