I have recently discovererd toad and I am very impressed so far.I have however one problem: Toad hangs if I open a SQL file while I have an active connection. If I open the SQL file before i open the connection to the database server, it works OK.I spent some time googling about this problem, but have'nt found anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?I am using Toad 220.127.116.112 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I am importing excel sheets with n no of rows and n no of columns into the database table using toad import option. now i need to write a code in java to import. i.e evrything should be in front end. In JSP(front end), I need to select a file and database table's name then click upload button. dats it. toad should run its import option in the backend and update all data in database. Is it possible for an external software like eclipse to connect to toad's import option? Is import loader is stand alone?
P.S- i am using Toad for MySQL
Any other opinions to solve my issue is also welcome
a new feature was added in the new release(18.104.22.1687),that is table hint,in the release note, there is a describe of this feature:
In the Editor, you can place the cursor over a table name in a SQL statement to display the list of columns in the table.
BUT, i really do not want this feature, is there anyway to forbid this?
If I have not used an Editor Window for a while (say > 3-5 min), when I submit a new query, the first two times it always returns "Execution Finished in..." after showing "Executing Script: Waiting for Connection" for a while - and always - only on the third time, does it execute the script. I use other interfaces, including phpMyAdmin and others that do not behave this way at all, so this seems particular to Toad MySQL, or at least the way it is setup in my case.
If you have also encountered this and/or have any ideas on what could be causing this behavior and how to fix it, I would appreciate a response.
Thanks for your help.
I have back up with *.bak extension and I want to restore it on my local machine. I haven't fount any guides how to do that in Toad and start an MySQL server, so I could easily connect to it from my local server.
Can anyone provide steps?
Thanks in advance.
In the Data Import wizard I can select a range in a xlsx format excel file but when I highlight and accept the input range, I get, "error reading from data file, check the file format and file encoding" "Unable to Loadfile".Grateful if someone would help me on working through this.I am a total newbie and have so far just created a new database with the above as first step undertaken.
Hi there ,
I'm using Toad for MySQL product for the past the few months. Its fine when working with queries.
But, whenever i want to insert data of 2k or more records, I'm going for Import Wizard. I tried to import from both .XLS and .CSV files. But Import doesn't processed. Showing "Object Reference Error".
Please help ASAP.
I am working with generating excel sheet reports from database.Have automated them.
Whenever i run the script, it runs the query and automatically translates the report to excel sheets and stores in the given destination.
But now i want the scripts to run automatically at a specified time.
once we automate the script there is an icon in the window for scheduling.
when i click it a popup opens and i can set the time interval there.
After submitting it leads to job manager page and everything works fine. But the problem is that on the scheduled time TOAD only opens the automation page.
In Job manager its showing as if its run at that time but I dont find the output file in the destination. Whats the problem am i facing?
PS: When i RUN the Automated script manually the file is getting stored in the mentioned destination.
Well looks like this is a common problem. I am running a mySQL instance on a Linux Server (CentOS) and my mySQL DB is running at port 3306. When ever I try to configure a new connection from my ToadformySQL , it gives error saying "unable to connect to any of the mySQL host specified". I am using TCP as connection type , then I hv supplied the username and password and spefied the port. I have also checked that the port is not blocked in the server(remote) and the user I am trying to connect as is having all the required privilege. I am using WIn8 as my client machine.
Has anybody ran into same issue? what may be the probable solution?
I'm using TOAD for MySQL v6.7 and I wondered why Import Multiple files is not possible? The Button "Open Folder" is greyed out! Is that a bug or something?
Many thanks for your time

There seems to be a bug in the schema comparison between servers.
On one server I have a Default value of '' on a couple of columns, however comparing the the tables on different servers does NOT reveal the Toad 188.8.131.527
It looks like the default '' that results in an empty string is completely omitted.
Running the create statement on MySQL Workbench results in the following SQL statement - which has the DEFAULT '' as expected.
CREATE TABLE `part` ( `partid` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `specifier` varchar(45) NOT NULL, `serial` varchar(45) NOT NULL, `nonceid` int(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT '-1', `uuid` varchar(45) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'x', `guitype` varchar(45) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `description` varchar(300) DEFAULT '', `jsonconfig` varchar(10000) DEFAULT NULL, `dynpartref` varchar(45) DEFAULT NULL, `TZ` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`partid`)) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=21634 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;
Any help to get the schema comparison to include this string default would be great.
When i open MySQL database i recieve the following error message:
Unknown MySQL error
Does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this? Please suggest me how to fix corrupt mysql database 2005 windows ?
Hi,I just installed Toad and am excited about using it,
Im using mysql, and just trying it out I created a database, table and some column that I link to my visual studio project. it connects fine to the database.
However, when adding some random data to the columns in Toad I get a warning/error saying I need to have a key column.
Sure, but in Toad under "Alter Table > Columns", I simply dont see where the option of adding a key column is to be found.
The complete error-text is:
"Dynamic SQL generation for the UpdateCommand is not supported against SelectCommand that does not return any key column information."
