The better a problem is described, the better the assistance tends to be.

In order to better assist with your issue at hand, please include the following information in your initial post:

-          Product, Version, and relevant environment details.

-          Include a screenshot of the problem

-          Describe the problem fully. What result was expected?

-          Can the issue be created on demand or is it intermittent?

-          If the problem can be generated faithfully, what are the exact steps to recreate the problem?

-          Any other pertinent information (see below)

Create Support Bundles

You can create a support bundle and send it to Dell Support or to the Toad for IBM DB2 community Web site (peer-to-peer support). The support bundle provides information (about your application and the database) that is used to help troubleshoot problems.

Select Help | Support Bundle. It may take time for Toad to generate the support bundle depending on your system configuration.

Create Support Bundle for a SQL Query Issue

If your issue is a SQL query issue, it is helpful if additional log files are included in the support bundle. These log files are automatically included if you generate a support bundle immediately after executing the query in either the Editor or Query Builder.

To create a support bundle for a SQL query issue

1. In the Editor or Query Builder, reproduce the error or issue.

2. After reproducing the error, immediately select Help | Support Bundle to generate a support bundle.

3. Toad asks if you want to log the row count for each table used in the query. If you select Yes, Toad determines the size of each table used in the query. This adds additional time to the generation process, but also provides additional information about your issue.

 4. When Toad is finished generating the support bundle attach log.

Note: For best results, always send the entire support bundle. This provides Support with the most information about your issue and aids the troubleshooting process.

*Note: Please refrain from including private data in your posts

Be as thorough as you can with the provided info. We will reply to you as quick as possible. We are glad to assist you

Hello,

I have created a procedure to extract and update a table.  I added the Procedure into a job , and the next step is to extract the data from that table into a text file with pipe delimited fields. What I cant find is how to delete the 1st line of the text file.

example:

line1: 1
line2: 14466869-99999-2|1|

Thank you !

Hi Team,

I have installed Toad for DB2 Freeware 6.0 in one of our VM windows box and installed db2client and catalogued the databases.

I could see those catalogued databases in Toad for DB2 window but when I was trying to connect I am getting the following error.

Could anyone please help me to check and suggest me what could be the issue.

Hello,

Currently when you open the script window it shows your create statement as well as your setting your schema and user name.

I was wondering if you could add an option in the settings to add the drop statement before the create in the script window?

Since z/OS does not really allow for alter of store procedures I think having an option to enable the script window to auto put drop statement would be handy since I always have to drop and re-create objects.

Thanks again!

I would like to give another suggestion to TOAD.

I don’t think this would be too hard to do.

I recently discovered the feature z/OS Remote Script Execute Wizard (I believe only enabled with DBA license key).  I have to say I wish I found this years ago!

Once you go through the wizard you are able to either run the JCL or upload the JCL to a member on the mainframe.  I tried the upload and it works great.  I was wondering if there was a way to take a DDL and just upload it to a Mainframe member.  So for example I could right click on a procedure and go through a wizard and push it to the mainframe.  I think this would add great functionality that most would enjoy.

Thanks again for the great support!!!

I am using Toad for DB2 Beta 6.3.0.57 (64 bit) . Db2 for z/OS.

I am trying to upload a .csv to an FTP site.   The customer requires the file have an extention of yyyymmddhhmm and they do not want the header information.   I had origially set it up as a file script with results.  i was able to upload the file with the proper extention, but there is no way that i can find to elimanate the header information.  If i use the to Export wizzard,  I can control the header, but i can not control the format of the date suffix.  it allows me to add it,  but not control the format.    Any ideas?

Thanks DJ

I inherited about 20 queries that have to be run every day in Toad (version 6.1.0.134) for DB2 on z/OS and we manually email the results to various business users.  Most of the queries have a date parameter we update every day before running.

I'm trying to use Toad automation scripts to automate this process.  I plan to make each of the 20 queries into separate Toad automation scripts.  I'd like to have a "master" automation script that would prompt me for the needed dates, then it would call each of the 20 and pass them the dates provided.

I've run into several problems, so I'm starting to wonder if what I'm trying to do is possible or feasible?  Does anyone out there use Toad Automation Scripts and if so have you done anything like this, or do you have any suggestions or tips?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi all,

"Processing was cancelled due to an interrupt"

with SQL0952N

I have already googled and tried resolving the issue

one was asking me to update the QUERYTIMEOUTINTERVAL=0 in the db2cli.ini file.

which I have already done .however, there was no improvement

Moreover, when i tried to resolve the issue from application and bypass the issue by using the CommandTimeout=0; then, it is not throwing the exception. However, we are not getting the desired output as well.

Please help me out.

Thanks,

Deepshika

Hello,

Has anyone ever tried repair a table space inside TOAD for DB2 z./OS?

Command running:

REPAIR
SET TABLESPACE [Database Name].[TableSpace Name] NORCVRPEND#

Error MessagE:

DSNU180I  %[Database Name] 062 09:29:51.47 DSNUGUCC - UTILITY IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE LOAD UTILITUTILID = [utility id ID], OBJECT = [Database Name].[TableSpace Name]

Using Toad for DB2 6.2.0.315.

I am just trying to figure out how to do this so I dont have to write JCL to repair a tablespace.

Thanks for you help!
