I didn't realize there was an Eclipse (for Mac) extension for TOAD until today's Quest Software mass mailing. I'm going to download it, install it and give it a try. But I don't know how an Eclipse extension is going to substitute for the TOAD application that I have on my work PC. It's hard to imagine. Can we just get the TOAD application on Mac like we have for PC?
It is nice to read getting an version of toad for MAC. Please go on with that idea!
Hi David,Thanks for the feedback. I will concentrate briefly on your issues.1) DBMS_OUTPUT works only with SQL Worksheet. Long ago, there was a discussion why it is that way, but I don't remember anymore. We could extend the functionality to both editors. But this issue can even go deeper - why are there two editors in Oracle plugin? Postgre and MySQL plugin use only one... Maybe this is a topic for a longer discussion.2) Absolutely. In fact, connection name is duplicite in editors, and you can also navigate to an editor tab from the Connections View. So, the improvement is - when the editor content is exported or imported, the tab will carry the corresponding filename. I created TEE-417. We can then figure out what the name should be in other cases...3) Maybe I didn't understand correctly, but I could not reproduce this. I can switch connections after I imported a script.4) You mean, The Stored Procedure Editor contains only "Compile" button? Maybe we could create a feature "Compile and Run". The problem is in fact, you run the procedure that is compiled on the database, not the script that you have in the editor.Tomas
David,We have a question on you to point 3)...Does the sql file open in our editor? You can add a screenshot if you like. It is possible that you have another plugin installed on your Eclipse and the default sql editor belongs to that another plugin. If so, you can change the default editor here: Window > Preferences > General > Editors > File Associations. There you can link the *.sql file type to any editor you want (i.e to our SQL Script Editor). Moreover, the combo in the editor shows you only connections that are connected.Tomas
Hi,thank you. Eclipse Juno is not officially supported yet. Please be patient, we are working on it :)Regards,Vaclav
Hi,please use the official community edition instead of the version from incubator. The incubator contained the very first versions that supported PostgreSQL and MySQL, but it is not active now. Both the databases are now part of the official distribution.
