I tried it all. Clicking on the on/off button at the server output view, inserting "set serveroutput on" at the beginning of my script, inserting "DBMS_OUTPUT.ENABLE(1000000)" etc. The server output window remains empty. I'm running my script from a .sql file using ctrl+enter or the play button on the corner of the screen. I am running Eclipse Helios. Please help, as I so far like the plugin very much and would be a shame to abandon it because of that sort of problem.
Hi,which version of Oracle do you use? There are two editors for Oracle, called "SQL Worksheet" and "Stored Procedure Editor", you can open them with icons in the Connections View. DBMS Output view works with SQL WORKSHEET. So, go to the DBMS output view and enable it with the "bulb" icon. Now, open the SQL Worksheet. You can test the output with a trivial script, just remember to enclose it in a begin-end block (anonymous block). Like this:begindbms_output.put_line('Hello world');end; Please tell us if there is a problem or an idea.
