There has been a recent (seamless ?) enhancement of Azure SQL db, namely, it does support now the addition of extended properties to tables, columns,... Maybe it did for a while but at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms180047.aspx, the green checkmark next to Azure SQL DB is new (since Jan apparently).
e.g. the following statement does not error out anymore - it did last time I tried a few months ago.
EXEC sys.sp_addextendedproperty @name = N'MS_Description', @value = 'test description', @level0type = N'SCHEMA', @level0name = 'dbo', @level1type = N'TABLE', @level1name = 'mytable'
Can TDP be updated to act like with SQL Server connections and allow to display the Description, among others,
Toad Data Point Beta has expired, and prompts me to download a new version when I try to run it on my Windows PC. I got a new version (ToadDataPoint_Beta_184.108.40.2062), however when I try to run the latest version 4.3, I get the same error that the beta period has expired. Here's the link: www.toadworld.com/.../toad_data_point_beta_program. Any ideas?
Any plan on supporting BigQuery ? It has an API for queries but one can also use the ODBC driver from Samba, which works in TDP.
However a big limitation is that TDP does not render arrays of records (so-called STRUCT and ARRAYS data types).
Hence the request is to support BigQuery natively, that is
Is there any way users can vote to support this feature ?
I'm on TDP Beta 220.127.116.110 and this issue is also in version 18.104.22.1683:
If I use the Data Import Export window to import an Excel file that is already open elsewhere on my screen, Toad takes me to a SharePoint List window in which the Cancel button doesn't work (but the X button does work).
Below is my Data Import Export window:
Below is the error message because the file I selected is already in use:
Below is the next window I get. It's a problem because (1) I wasn't trying to import a SharePoint List, and (2) the Cancel button doesn't do anything.
I know the fix is to close the Excel file before starting the import, but the SharePoint window seems inappropriate for this situation.
After installing the latest/current beta version 22.214.171.1241 it says that the version has already expired.
I'm currently running Toad Data Point 126.96.36.1993 (32 bit) and after upgrading to Windows 10 - Creators Edition the Job Manager fails and I cannot schedule any tasks.
I saw a suggest to upgrade to the Beta to see if it fixes my problem. I've installed Toad Data Point Beta 188.8.131.52 (32 bit) and that does not fix the error.
This is the error I receive when attempting to "Schedule" a "Automation".
I've also tried changing to Task Scheduler 1.0 and that fails also.
Hence the request is to support BigQuery natively, that is
Are there any planned updates to the Source Control Options? Here's the original thread regarding TDP 3.8 - nothing changed in 4.0 or in the first 4.0.1 beta release.
If there are no planned updates to allow the use of other Version/Source control systems, could the language on the associated dialog(s) at least be updated to not be misleading regarding the available options? I've got management hounding me over putting everything in TFS because they see the options that would indicate that it's available, yet per the thread above it's not - but explaining that doesn't do any good.
Hi, I just upgraded my beta to 184.108.40.2061 and I'm hitting an issue with the variable handling. Normally, whenever a new version comes out, variables fluctuate between showing up as quote-encapsulated and not. It normally doesn't affect functionality other than sort order and it's a beta, so no big deal. This time around it's doing something new.
My automation basically sets a variable (#TODAY#) which generates today's date in YYYY-MM-DD format as a string. I then use that variable to name my query export and then in my notification emails, I provide a url with the filename for the day. It's all pretty simple stuff.
The export now exports the filename without quote-encapsulating the date portion, which is how I'd prefer it. However, every other step in automation is still using & looking for the quote-encapsulated version, so parts of the job start failing. I've tried simple things like the copy file action and my email notification action and they all fail.
E.G. I'm generated Filename_2017-08-11.xlsx and the rest of the job is looking for Filename_'2017-08-11'.xlsx , even though every step refers to the same #TODAY# variable.
I've tried rebuilding the variable as Date('YYYY-MM-DD') and to_char(Current_date(), "YYYY-MM-DD') and both behave the same way. I've also tried setting it as a DateTime variable, which introduced new issues.
Is there something I'm missing to get this to behave consistently ?
When trying to access the Job Manager in 220.127.116.11 (Win7 /32-bit Toad Data Point), the following error triggers:
System.MissingMethodExceptionMethod not found: 'DevExpress.Utils.ImageCollection Quest.Toad.Util.Global.get_ImageList()'.Stack Trace: at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.ConcoleToad.LoadServers() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.ConcoleToad.initControls() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.ConcoleToad..ctor() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.Analyst.ConcoleToadAnalyst..ctor() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.PluginForm.CreateMainControl() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.PluginForm.StartAll() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.PluginForm..ctor() at Quest.JobManagement.UI.Plugin.PluginForm.JustShow(Object sender, ITrl trls)
The same thing happens when trying to schedule a new automation.
Downgrading to the last viable beta works, but that expires on 07/16. Are there any options for getting around this or do I need to wait for a new beta version to be released?
I was trying to download latest Beta release, but it seems that something went wrong on download link.
On forums announcement we can find this:
But when reaching download page http://www.toadworld.com/products/toad-data-point/toad_data_point_beta_program, this is what is showing:
Can you provide download link for latest release?

I was reading http://dev.toadfordataanalyst.com/releasenotes/beta/ToadforDataAnalystsRNBeta.htm and found this Defect ID: ST69744
On my last trial I was successfully working on several Openedge Progress databases through Toad Datapoint ODBC connection.
