The last released SQL Navigator beta edition has expired.
Is there another one available for testing?
If so, can it be made available to us beta testers?
I just write a simple query:
SELECT p. FROM per_all_people_f p ORDER BY person_id DESC;
And when I rewrite the dot after "SELECT p" NAV just popups a tiny window with: <p.details> and some other options with <...> but not the table columns.
Ok, then I keep clicking on the <p.details> and nothing happens - the dotted line just gets longer:
Hi, when double click on any .sql file, it is opening a new instance of SQL Navigator. I would like to change this option to open in the already opened existing session. Please let me know to change this option.
1.One VCS - many Oracle DB's

What i expected:

UPDATE gpadmin.person SET date_of_birth = TO_DATE ('04/07/1981', 'mm/dd/yyyy') WHERE person_idt = 2787057401;
not sure if your able to find the hidden text. We get update requests like this from development teams to update a specific record for a specific purpose. The data is copied and pasted into sql nav and executed by the dba team after management approvals This update executed without the where clause which updated all records in the table.
The spool reported that only 1 record was updated. Not all records.

We have been able to duplicate this issue with sql nav 6.7 and 7.2. Please research. Please let me know if your able to find the hidden character that made nav skip the where clause.
I am having really bad timing issues in 7.3 that is also prevalent in the 7.4 betas.
Same schema, same database. I open a package from the sql window by typing the package name and press CTRL-Enter
SQL Navigator 6.7 (Old Quest version): Starting timestamp: 10:02:46 --> Last timestamp: 10:02:57 - Total lines 367
SQL Navigator 7.3 (new license): Starting timestamp: 10:02:55 --> Last timestamp: 10:04:44 - Total lines ~700
For me the new version is almost unusable since every now and then some background task will go and query the SYS objects and freeze the editor for a few minutes.
I have tried to enable/disable the option "Use user's dictionary views" but that doesn't fix/change anything.
This also applies to code completion that doesnðt work 80% of the time.
Anything I can do to speed this up? i.e I do not have access to the SYS user..
Anyone else having problems with Nav dying frequently? This started awhile back, but it has continued. Seems sort of random as I cannot figure out a pattern. Sometimes it dies while I'm doing something in Nav and sometimes I just come back and it's non-responsive.
Also in Windows 10, I almost always get a second "shadow" window that gets created on the task bar.
I have sent Vincent the sqlnavigator.el file from the incident that occurred yesterday.
How do I get the label for a column on the same name as teh column in a select statement with the formatter?
SELECT 'one' FIRST, 'two' twoer, CASE WHEN ('y' || 'n' || 't' || 'r' IN ('YYNN', 'NNYY', 'YYYY')) THEN 'Term' ELSE 'Active' END per_id_no,'three' third, '4' fourth FROM DUAL
will format as
SELECT 'one' FIRST, 'two' twoer, CASE WHEN ('y' || 'n' || 't' || 'r' IN ('YYNN', 'NNYY', 'YYYY')) THEN 'Term' ELSE 'Active' END per_id_no, 'three' third, '4' fourth FROM DUAL
Not sure what you guys did, but it's NOT formatting like it used to. Very frustrating to not change your settings but have it format different.
In addition, your positioning of "is/as" is broken. It will ALWAYS put on a new line. :(
If I try to load my old .opt file for formatting, it doesn't load or give me the option to save. Also, I believe that when I install a new version, it doesn't use my old formatting file. Shouldn't this carry over to the new version along with my preferences?
Also, why can't I resize the "Formatter Options" window?
It also appears that the "stacked on more than..." doesn't work
Just encountered a problem with the formatting tool CTRL+R :
In version 7.4 beta, the aliases go on the next line. I copied my parameter from 7.3 to 7.4, but nothing changes.
Here my parameter file :
<SQLNavFormatter><SQLNavOptions Version="126.96.36.19948" Created="2015-12-02 09:31:08" Modified="2016-01-12 11:38:52"/> <QP5FormatterOptions><OptionsGUI>5.290.0</OptionsGUI> <Version>252</Version> <OutputTabs>2</OutputTabs> <IndentSize>2</IndentSize> <IndentTHENonSameLine>1</IndentTHENonSameLine> <IndentLOOPonSameLine>1</IndentLOOPonSameLine> <IndentISonSameLine>1</IndentISonSameLine> <RightMargin>128</RightMargin> <LF_LimitLinefeeds>0</LF_LimitLinefeeds> <VariableCase>2</VariableCase> <CommaStyle>2</CommaStyle> <ParensStyle>0</ParensStyle> <CaseAllowFlat>0</CaseAllowFlat> <DefaultArrangeOnCol>99</DefaultArrangeOnCol> <DefaultListParens>3</DefaultListParens> <CreateTableArrangement>D</CreateTableArrangement> <CreateTableListParens>6</CreateTableListParens> <CreateViewArrangement>D</CreateViewArrangement> <CreateViewListParens>6</CreateViewListParens> <RecordTypeArrangement>D</RecordTypeArrangement> <CreateTypeArrangement>D</CreateTypeArrangement> <CreateTypeListParens>6</CreateTypeListParens> <Tagline>0</Tagline> </QP5FormatterOptions></SQLNavFormatter>
If I set a category on a connection in the project Manager and then try to open the connection, it doesn't keep the category in the popup logon window.
If I have saved the password it does keep it.
Thought that I already had opened a thread therefore, but I don't find it anymore !
A copy / paste from 67000 lines of code takes about 5-7 minutes (SQL Nav is not responding), since at least V 7.2
I'm in v 188.8.131.5267, 32bit on Win 7 pro (up to date), I5 M520 CPU 2.4Mhz, 4G ram (2.4 used from 3.2 available), SSD drive
In V6.7 the same copy/paste takes +/- 3 seconds !
It's the second time, the CTRL+R crashes and resets my parameters. Bot times, I just added some code, and pressed CTRL+R. Got this error :
I recopy my backup file in the directory and CTRL+R works again !
I was wondering if there is any plan for moving the SQL Navigator folder (binaries files) from...
"C:\Dell\SQL Navigator 2016 Suite" to "C:\Program Files\SQL Navigator 2016 Suite" for example
I think it was just an issue with a session

Just opened the triggers from a table, it took 10 seconds to show them in the right window !!!
I closed all SQL Nav and restarted one session, same result :
It does this behaviour with all the triggers and indexes, not the others parts of a table.
