Hello

I have a process that runs daily that pulls down a csv file imports it and does some conversion and puts that converted data into a staging table.

I then want a plsql script I can automate along with the other process to insert or update the data from the Staging Table to the main table.

I will have several hundred thousand records per day and approximately 25% of them will be data that needs to be updated.

Example

Maintable Contains

COOPID,ACCOUNTID,DATETIME,VALUE
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 5:00:00.0000000 AM,0.48
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 6:00:00.0000000 AM,5
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 7:00:00.0000000 AM,1
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 8:00:00.0000000 AM,2.3
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 9:00:00.0000000 AM,1.8
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 10:00:00.0000000 AM,3
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 11:00:00.0000000 AM,2.3

StagingTable Contains

COOPID,ACCOUNTID,DATETIME,VALUE
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 5:00:00.0000000 AM,3.8
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 6:00:00.0000000 AM,2.6
HSCE,300001,9/10/2017 7:00:00.0000000 AM,1.2
HSCE,300001,9/11/2017 8:00:00.0000000 AM,6.2
HSCE,300001,9/11/2017 9:00:00.0000000 AM,3.3
HSCE,300001,9/11/2017 10:00:00.0000000 AM,2.5
HSCE,300001,9/11/2017 11:00:00.0000000 AM,6.6

I want a script that will automatically put in the new 9/11 data into the MainTable and update the MainTable with the new values for 9/10 This is a small size example for 1 account but the file and table both contain lots of accounts for many years worth of data.

I looked at Merge and other postings however all seem to use Dual instead of looking at 2 tables.

Thanks for the help

We've just upgraded to SQL Navigator 7.3 (7.3.0.4294)

I extract the DDL for a view to include the grants.  When I try to run the script I get ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended.

Troubleshooting show that I either have to take all the grant clauses out of the script or put an ";" at the end of the view creation portion manually.

Here'a sample query I've created that uses WITH clause with a function and some sub-query (my real query is much more complex, but has similar structure).

--CREATE VIEW TMP_ABC AS

WITH
FUNCTION abc (p_val NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
vret VARCHAR2 (100);
BEGIN
SELECT LPAD (' ', p_val, 'z') INTO vret FROM DUAL;

RETURN vret;
END;
gen AS (SELECT ROWNUM rn FROM DUAL CONNECT BY LEVEL < 10)
SELECT gen.rn, abc (rn) abc
FROM gen;

With the first line commented out, the query runs fine from SQL Navigator 7.4, formatter is able to format it, but if I uncomment the first line and attempt to create a view based on this query I get an error message.

line 1: ORA-06553: PLS-103: Encountered the symbol "end-of-file" when expecting one of the following:

:= ; not null default character

or

line 12: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement

Using SQL Nav 7.4 64-bit, Oracle 12c client 64 bit and 12c database.

Tried Oracle SQL Developer and the view creation script works just fine.

Hi Michael,

I assume what he is referring to as the strange e-mails is the “badge” system where by asking a question he earned an achievement.  New achievements earned do result in an automated e-mail being sent with congratulations for the new achievement earned.  Sometimes they have whimsical names or text associated with them.  He can see which achievements he’s earned by visiting his profile: http://www.toadworld.com/members/andreml

Hi,
Well, even when I got some strange mails (telling me how great my question is and what a cool guy I am.) - no useful answer at all.
So, friends - what’s the matter here.

I do hope, this is forum with more than a "artificial intelligence"-mailing system in the background.

Hello everybody.
I have a problem installing SQL Nav 7.3 that my oraganizzation recently purchased both in 32 than 64 bit version.

First of all I uninstalled the old version of SQL Navigator then I proceed installing the new one.

My pc has installed win 7 64 bit, I have also installed oracle client 11.2.0.1.0 (but if necessary I could install a more recent version)
and I usuallly connect with a oracle 12.1 (12c) db server.
I dont remember well because now I'm not at work, but whether I try to install SQL Nav 7.3 both 32-bit than 64-bit version, at the end of installation,
when I try to connect to the server I get errors such as "missing OCI.dll" or an error that the program can not locate the tnsnamer.ora file.
How should I proceed?
First question: I have to try back installing the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version or it would be the same?
Which version can be considered more stable?
How can I overcome the error messages mentioned above?

Thank in advance.
Roberto

When a user deletes a date field he just opened, he gets a 'invalid data entered' error.

To be able to delete the date fields, he must not "open" the field, just press delete.  it would be nice to be able to delete in both ways.

Hi

I'm in V7.3 32 bit, Win 7 64 bit.  When I try to add a field in a view with the view editor, I get, on the first commit, an error (ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis, for example), and when I commit a second time it works.

Regards

Martin
