Did you know that Spotlight on Oracle predicts performance problems months BEFORE they might happen?  Just click on the “all seeing eye” icon to go to the Predictive Diagnostics homepage.  Spotlight now predicts degrading SQL statements,  anticipates alarms that will be hitting as your usage increases,  and helps you plan for your future resource requirements in CPU, memory and I/O with Performance Modeling.

 

There is not a lot to learn to begin using Predictive Diagnostics.  Just follow the step-by-step dynamic list on the top panel under “What To Do Next”.   The list is hyper-linked to take you through the steps to get started and it automatically detects the steps you have already taken.  And there is always a description panel to tell you how to interpret the screen and take you to the logical next steps.
